Many of our members have been coming to me and saying how much they have enjoyed, are feeling the benefits of the Pilates class we have organised with Suzie Crane in the Rescue Hall on a Friday night since October. As a result we going to trial for a period of a month (to gauge the response) Pilates on a Wednesday night from the 20th April at the Football Club after our normal jogging session. It will start at 7.30 to about 8.30pm, as a result we will be starting all our groups at 6.30pm prompt, so we can get some lite refreshments before the Pilates start. If you havent tried Pilates before (i never had) it really helps to build up Core strength and a result your stamina, and helps prevent injury etc when running. I would highly recommend you give it ago, as over a period of time i know you will feel the benefits as i have!! The session of a Friday night will stop over the summer months to give you an opportunity to go out with the club for a leisurely jog under the instructions of Marshall Birnie one of leaders. To encourage you to give it ago the session on the 20th April will only cost £1, so its a Jog and Pilates for a couple of quid what a bargain!! ha ha
What a fantastic achievement it was Sheila, Dawn-anne, Liz and Angela raising £3588.20 in Aid of Maggies Cancer Support Centre in Aberdeen which is to built in the near future. On Wednesday night Nicola came along from Maggie and accepted the cheque. Two weeks ago Sheila, Dawn-anne, Liz and Angela all ran the Inverness Half Marathon in aid of Maggies which was a fantastic achievement as none had every ran before they join Peterhead Jogscotland. Sheila, Dawn-anne, Liz and Angela would like to thank all Peterhead Jogscotland members for their support, encouragement and donations for great charity. We had a great time last week when Alistair Currie Jogscotland Manager spent the evening with us at Peterhead Jogscotland. We had about 155 members along plus 28 leaders so Peterhead Football Club was bursting to the seams!!After Alistair can back from jogging with the beginners he presented our Achiever Of The Year Awards to Sandra Davidson, and our under 16s Award to Shelly Duncan. Sandra only joined us last August as her enthusiasm for Jogscotland and jogging is really inspiring. Only a few weeks ago she turned for Sunday afternoon leisurely jog and ended up doing a 12k nae real when think she never jogged before August last year its just amazing!! Shelly Duncan was 14 year olds last Monday (Happy Birthday Shelly) and never misses a session even on a Thursday night when she is beating all the men on track. Over the last year Shelly has progressed so much she is one of best runners in our club. Remember that name in future as Shelly is going to be a real star!! Shelly and Sandra we are really proud of you at Peterhead Jogscotland what you have achieved over this last year is just brillant. Well done to all those who won a prize on the night from our free prize draw pity i wasnt one of them!! To see all photographs from the night simply click here
